View From the Road (2)

WOW, I'd forgotten how much I love to travel! We've had to cancel three or four vacations in the last several years and we are DUE!! I've never been in Georgia and it's so fun to see a new part of the country for the first time! While I love to fly (and good grief, I do love to fly...even started training for my pilot's license at one point), driving does have distinct advantages. I love to see the countryside change. My camera gear doesn't get molested by airport personnel. I can bring as many pairs of shoes as I want, guilt-free. And all my baggage arrives with me!

As I watch the environment change, listen to the accents shift, feel the air get warmer and the roadside get greener...there is one thing that doesn't change. The Stars and Stripes blowing proudly in the breeze. Despite our differences in opinion, climate, dress, speech and politics, the United States flag is a symbol that we are united by something greater than these. And what fun to see if blowing over a totally different type of foliage than I usually encounter. May God bless this country.
